We all got along so famously Which was a stroke of luck. We made a wonderful new friend In Liz who joined the crew. Our travels became annual, Something to look forward to. Flights over the Grand Canyon, Belaggio Hotel stays. Whizzing off to Bologna, To sample the Bolognese. Berlin - the remainder of the wall And the beautiful Brandenburg Gate. Flamenco dancing in Seville The memories - all so great. A special trip close to Barbara’s heart Was like a visit to her past. To Yorkshire and York Minster Betty’s Tea Rooms for repast. A cable car in Dubrovnik Nothing was too much trouble. Sightseeing extraordinaire And always, at the double! So much to see, so little time Barb certainly gave her best. Safe to say she definitely Put all our feet to the test. But what wonderful times we had She really did us proud. We’d sometimes go off the beaten track, others just follow the crowd. But she’d arrange everything from A to Z With a very strict itinerary! Golden times shared with such dear friends We’d hoped the journey would never end.
